Jean Shin, Allée Gathering, 2019. Recycled maple wood and steel. Dimensions variable. Courtesy the artist

Taking inspiration from Outlooks: Jean Shin, create a large tapestry from reclaimed materials. Allée Gathering is a communal table made from the declining maples that grew along the Allée until recently. Participate in the artist’s process of reclaiming materials by inking and printing from these maple logs to create a tapestry that at once captures the identity and age of the trees and creates a cloth to gather around as a community at the table.

  • Suggested age range: ages 4 and up
  • Program location: meet at Jean Shin’s site-specific work, Allée Gathering, located in the South Fields
