Public Program: Sonic Experience with The Honourable Elizabeth A. Baker
12:00pm — 5:00pm
The Honourable Elizabeth A. Baker, who created sound pieces for RA Walden’s access points // or // alternative states of matter(ing), presents a live sonic conscious experience in the South Fields with “The Spaceship.” An extensive and ever-evolving setup designed by Baker, “The Spaceship” is a system instrument composed of independent interconnected units including a variety of semi-modular analogue synths, interactive MIDI controllers driven by movement and light, theremins, computers and mobile devices, found objects, a toy piano, harmonium, handmade hydrophones, and a 6’ 2” custom double-sided third-bridge non-resonant amplified zither named “Black Moon Lilith,” which was designed and built by the experimental luthier John C. L. Jansen.
Following the sonic conscious experience work, in which individuals are invited to engage through meditation and deep consideration, participants are invited to come together as a communal collective and share their individual experiences about the intertwining themes present in this sonic work.

- Program location: meet in the South Fields
- A rain date is scheduled for Sunday, October 15
- This program is free with admission. No registration required.
The Honourable Elizabeth A. Baker is a new renaissance artist whose work is best expressed as a constantly evolving practice that doesn’t fit neatly into definition or expectation boxes. It is an artistic body of work vast in scope and scale outside of the confines of a simple elevator pitch, unrestrained and unencapsulated. Learn more about her practice here.
