Assembled together with Large Lamp I, these chair and chaise sculptures create a domestic tableau on the patio of the Museum Building at Storm King. Originally created as pieces of furniture for his studio, these works may initially seem incongruous to Houseago's more prominent artistic practice. They begin to make sense when considered as part of an all-encompassing studio-based practice where, as the artist has said, “the studio for me is the center of my life.” Visitors are invited to experience these objects as seats and places of rest.
