Each of Alyson Shotz's two Transitional Objects originated in a cylindrical shape that Shotz twisted and otherwise transformed on her computer. The walls and floor of the gallery they inhabit are painted the same ice blue as the sculpture pedestals, creating a serene environment. Shotz prefers Transitional Objects to be seen under natural light: "The shadows move with the sun as the sun moves around the space. You really have a different sense of time than you would normally; it's not a clock-based time, it’s a sun-based time."
