TOURS

Docent-Led Tours (Walking): Free
Storm King’s specially-trained docents lead tours that are 45-60 minutes long. Tours offer an introduction to the Art Center and generally take place on and around Museum Hill. Please be prepared to cover up to one mile on grass including some hills. More accessible routes may be planned with advanced notice.

Teachers with a special interest in particular works or themes should specify this on their reservation request.  When possible, our staff will work with the group leader to tailor a tour to the group’s interest.

Docent-led tours must be requested at least two weeks in advance of your visit and are subject to docent availability.

Tram Tours: $250
Each tram tour can seat up to 47 people. The tram will make a loop through the grounds and play a pre-recorded tour with information about Storm King’s history, art, and landscape. Trams are not able to make extended stops along the route. The full tram tour loop is roughly 30 minutes long. Tram Tours must be reserved at the time of booking and are subject to availability.

Self-Guided Tours: FREE
Educators and school group leaders are welcome to use Storm King’s teaching resources to plan a self-guided experience of exploring ideas and artworks. These resources offer pre-visit ideas to prepare for your trip, tips and tools for onsite engagement, and post-visit activity prompts for continued exploration.

LUNCH

Picnic areas are available for groups who wish to bring their own lunch. Students should plan to carry their own lunches or all lunches should be placed in a large box or bin for easy transport to a picnic area by our staff on arrival.
