Project Team

To realize this vision, Storm King is working with a global team of distinguished consultants. The architectural team’s vision aligns with Storm King’s mission to prioritize the visitor experience and advance the Art Center’s leadership in landscape stewardship and environmental sustainability. The result is a collaborative endeavor that centers people—staff, artists, visitors—and radically reinvigorates Storm King’s most vital and dynamic qualities.

heneghan peng architects
Dublin, Ireland

heneghan peng architects is a design partnership practicing architecture, landscape, and urban design. The practice was founded by Shih-Fu Peng and Róisín Heneghan in New York in 1999 and relocated to Dublin in 2001. Among the award-winning projects the firm has designed are the Giant’s Causeway Visitors’ Centre on the World Heritage Site in Northern Ireland and significant additions and renovations of the National Gallery of Ireland, Dublin. Storm King represents heneghan peng’s first project in the United States.




WXY architecture + urban design
New York

WXY is a distinguished architecture and planning practice based in New York City. The firm was founded in 1998 by Claire Weisz and Mark Yoes, with a focus on engaging, improving and honoring public space. Among its award-winning projects are the SeaGlass Carousel in New York City’s Battery Park and Cabin Prototypes for New York State Parks. In 2018, Weisz received the American Institute of Architects (AIA) New York Chapter’s prestigious Medal of Honor, its highest award to a member for distinction in the profession.

Reed Hilderbrand
Cambridge, Massachusetts, and New Haven, Connecticut

Reed Hilderbrand
is an award-winning landscape architecture practice based in Cambridge and New Haven. Now in its third decade, the firm is engaged on commissions for the American Museum of Natural History, Boston’s Franklin Park, Dumbarton Oaks Research Library and Collection, and Longwood Gardens. The American Society of Landscape Architects (ASLA) named Reed Hilderbrand the 2013 Landscape Architecture Firm of the Year. The project team is led by Gary Hilderbrand, Beka Sturges, and Meg Griscom, all of whom worked with Storm King previously on the renewal of the Allées in 2018.

Gustafson Porter + Bowman

Gustafson Porter + Bowman is an award-winning landscape architecture practice based in London. The firm was established in 1997. Gustafson Porter + Bowman’s global portfolio spans a wide range of historical and cultural contexts, and includes the Diana, Princess of Wales Memorial in Hyde Park, London. The firm recently won a commission to redesign the approaches to the Eiffel Tower in Paris. Founding Partner Neil Porter leads Gustafson Porter + Bowman’s design team for Storm King.
