While framing Storm King's landscape, Untitled (Yellow Outline) also casts a yellow shadow into the gallery space. Over the course of a day — and the length of Storm King's season — this shadow moves across the gallery, rewarding the observant viewer with its subtle changes. The work may also be seen as a reference to the gilded frames of Renaissance landscape paintings.
