Meaning in Roni Horn's work is purposefully open-ended; as she has said, "I prefer not to have metaphors like ‘it looks like a cloud.’ I want to find a space where resemblance is not very prominent, so I go between the spaces." This cast-glass sculpture is visually ambiguous, seeming neither liquid nor solid. Its tone takes on qualities of its changing surroundings. Horn’s choice of a watery blue for this work accentuates its mutability, and she has spoken of the psychological complexity of the color: "It's not for nothing that being blue is a possibility."
