Last Light marks change, suggesting Earth's ever-shifting position in the universe. Composed of a thin strip of reflective film foil, the work stretches on a diagonal beneath the surface of Storm King's south pond, oriented to match the angle from which the setting sun’s rays hit the pond on the evening of the summer solstice, the longest day of the year. Last Light thereby extends rays of sunlight deep into the pond, an attempt, however ephemeral, to preserve the light of early summer.

On view through the summer.
