In June on the day of the Summer Solstice, we will renew our vows with our earth kin by making natural charm jewelry that reminds us of the texture, personality, and history of land and our responsibility towards it. This program is inspired by Outlooks: Saif Azzuz and will be led by Marcela Torres.

  • Program location: Museum Hill
  • Suggested age range: all ages
  • Free with admission, no registration required
Marcela Torres was born in Salt Lake City, Utah and currently resides between Brooklyn, NY and Chicago, IL. Their nomadic energy keeps them traveling between homes and families, visiting lands they have ritual responsibilities with. Torres holds a BFA & BA from the University of Utah, an MFA in Performance from School of the Arts Institute and is a Tenure Track Assistant Professor in Visual Art at SUNY Old Westbury in Long Island, New York.
ACCESSIBILITY

Terrain and Getting Around
The tour will take place on grass, just off of a paved path. The program location is about 1 mile from the entrance along mostly level paved paths. Visitors may take the free, wheelchair-accessible Tram Loop from stop 1 at the base of the entrance path to stop 4 near the Storm King Environmental Field Station, and then take the Elevator up to Museum Hill. Trams depart from stop 1 at 15 and 45 minutes after each hour.

Restrooms
Accessible, single-occupancy restroom stalls are located in the Outdoor Lobby, near the entrance. Portable restrooms, including an ADA stall are located on Museum Hill.

ASL interpretation, and Assistive Listening Devices with T-coil capabilities are available upon request at least two weeks in advance. Every effort will be made to honor requests made with less notice.
