Chef Clare de Boer is a four-time James Beard-nominated chef and 2025 Best Chef: NY State semifinalist for her latest project, Stissing House. Dating to the dawn of the American Republic, Stissing House was built in 1782 to serve as a watering hole for travelers passing through the Hudson Valley. Chef Clare, a co-owner of King in Manhattan’s SoHo district, ventured upstate in 2022 to renovate the country tavern. Her menus remain true to her classic culinary style: relaxed, simple, elegantly luxurious, exceptional.
