A group of people are gathered around a sun print in the making. They are situated on a green grassy field on a sunny day.

Join us to watch the partial solar eclipse from the meadows and fields of Storm King. Make a sun print (cyanotype) to mark the occasion using special light sensitive paper. Bring or create objects with small holes (think colanders and graters) to create and capture the crescent shaped shadows unique to the eclipse. 100 pairs of solar eclipse viewing glasses will be available for free on a first come, first served basis. Led by Storm King Learning & Engagement Staff.

  • Program location: Meet near the Storm King Environmental Field Station
  • Suggested age range: all ages
    • Free with admission, no registration required

Note: Please use caution when viewing the solar eclipse. Do not look directly at the sun (not even during an eclipse), unless you are wearing the proper eye protection for viewing.
