Children & Families: Compressed Time

Compressed Time: Inspired by the Winogradsky columns in Anicka Yi’s Message from the Mud, explore how time compacts organic matter while molding your own brick conglomerate. Participants will create a layered brick slab using waters, soils and various flora sourced from the mid-Hudson Valley.
Tiempo Comprimido: Inspirados en las columnas Winogradsky en la obra Mensaje de Barro, de Anicka Yi, exploren cómo el tiempo compacta la materia orgánica mientras moldean su propio conglomerado de ladrillo. Los participantes crearán un bloque de ladrillo utilizando aguas, suelos y diversas floras recolectadas en el medio Valle Hudson.

ACCESSIBILITY
Terrain and Getting Around
The tour will take place on grass, just off of a paved path. The program location is about 1/4 mile from the entrance along mostly level paved paths near the Outdoor Café.
Restrooms
Accessible, single-occupancy restroom stalls are located in the Outdoor Lobby, near the entrance. Portable restrooms are located close to the program location off a level gravel path at the Outdoor Café.
ASL interpretation, and Assistive Listening Devices with T-coil capabilities are available upon request at least two weeks in advance. Every effort will be made to honor requests made with less notice.
