Is this a next level Extraordinary in the Field? We return to the storied grounds of Storm King to set our iconic table in the company of massive sculptures set amidst acres of manicured meadows and forested woodlands. Following a reception on a hilltop overlooking the art installations [with remarks from Executive Director Nora Lawrence], we will stroll down the hill to the table below.

Known for his mastery of the wood-fired hearth, Chef Rafiq Salim will bring his art-de-cuisine to the field kitchen among the sculptures. After training with some of the industry’s most celebrated chefs, Rafiq earned national recognition in 2023, when he was named a StarChefs New York Rising Star. This year, he’s been named a semifinalist for the James Beard Award for Best Chef: New York State, further cementing his reputation as one of the region’s most exciting culinary talents.
