ACCESSIBILITY
Terrain and Getting Around
Museum Hill can be accessed via paved paths as well as the elevator near Tram Stop 1. The tour will take place across varied terrain including hills, paved paths, gravel paths, and mown lawn. Expect to cover 1.0-1.5 miles on the tour.
Accessible Cart Service to Midnight
Arlene Shechet’s sculpture Midnight is located in the South Fields, accessible only by unpaved paths. While the exhibition tour will focus on works located closer to the Museum Building, wheelchair-accessible cart rides to and from Midnight may be requested for before or after the tour by calling 845.534.3115 or emailing info@stormkingartcenter.org at least 48 hours in advance. You may also request a ride while onsite. Service is available on a first come, first served basis. The cart can accommodate up to five visitors sitting in seats; or one wheelchair-using visitor with up to three additional passengers in seats. The weight capacity for the ramp is 650lbs.
Restrooms
The indoor restrooms on Museum Hill are equipped with somewhat accessible stalls. These stalls include grab bars but are too narrow to accommodate the full turning radius of most wheelchairs.
ASL interpretation for guided tours is available upon request two weeks in advance. Every effort will be made to honor requests made with less notice.
If you have questions or need other accommodations, please email info@stormkingartcenter.org.
