Public Program: Moonlit Walk + Stargazing

Friday, May 9, 2025
7:00pm — 9:00pm
Type: Walks

A sunset over a field of grasses with people walking towards monumental sculptures towards the horizon

Enjoy art and nature under a full moon with Storm King educators and explore the night sky with astronomer Raj Pandya. Experience Storm King from sunset through moonrise during this special guided, after-hours event. Wear comfortable shoes, and dress in layers, as it often cools down quite a bit in the evening. Registration is required and space is limited.

Raj Pandya is the Director of the John R. Kirk Planetarium and a full-time lecturer in the department of Physics and Astronomy at SUNY New Paltz. He teaches courses in astronomy, and physics, and as Planetarium Director he develops, organizes, promotes, and presents live planetarium shows for the campus community and the regional public. Raj is originally from Westchester, NY and currently lives in New Paltz.
